About QLands

Building the infrastructure for trusted field and frontline data

QLands is a data platform company building core infrastructure for reliable, governed, and decision-ready data collected in real-world operating environments.

Across agriculture, humanitarian response, ESG reporting, and research, organizations increasingly rely on data gathered by field teams and frontline staff to inform decisions, allocate resources, and meet accountability requirements. However, this data often becomes difficult to standardize, govern, and compare across programs, particularly when collected through tools designed for speed rather than long-term use.

FormShare, QLands’ flagship platform, addresses this gap. It is a secure, project-based system that enables organizations to design, collect, manage, and analyze field and frontline data with built-in structure, validation, and governance. Unlike per-seat or form-based tools, FormShare is designed around programs and projects, reflecting how complex operations actually scale.

From field systems to platform

QLands was founded in 2007 by Carlos Quiros, initially providing data systems and architecture support to agriculture and development programs operating in low-resource, high-complexity environments. This work consistently surfaced the same constraint: tools optimized for convenience or rapid deployment failed when programs grew, diversified, or required governance across teams and geographies.

Over time, these lessons informed a platform approach. FormShare emerged as a purpose-built system that embeds structure, validation, and accountability directly into field and frontline data workflows—reducing downstream risk while increasing analytical value across programs.

Dr. Katie Tavenner joined QLands as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer to lead the company’s transition to a scalable product business. She brought deep expertise in applied social science, program design, data governance, and research-to-practice integration. Together, the founding team combines technical platform architecture with strategic leadership grounded in real-world program delivery.

Today and ahead

Today, QLands supports organizations managing complex, multi-program operations across agriculture, ESG, humanitarian response, and research. FormShare is used where data must be collected across teams and locations, governed consistently, and relied on for operational, analytical, and accountability decisions.

With FormShare now offered as a Software-as-a-Service platform, QLands is focused on scaling adoption while preserving the governance, structure, and reliability required by institutional and enterprise users. The company is strengthening FormShare as core infrastructure for program-level data management and expanding its role within broader data ecosystems through interoperability and analytics.

QLands is building infrastructure that enables organizations to operate and scale data-driven programs with consistency and governance across projects and systems.
